The Foundation Program provides a chance to deepen our knowledge and
experience of Buddhism through a structured program of study and
meditation classes. It forms a perfect basis for daily meditation
practice. If you are interested you may attend two classes before
making a commitment to the program.
Time: Mondays
and Wednesdays 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Cost: $50 per
month

Why do we need a study program?
Buddhism teaches that to find lasting happiness and meaning in our lives we need to follow a spiritual path.
To follow this path it is important to have a qualified teacher who can offer us advice and encouragement and give us pure Dharma teachings. It is also important to have a strong spiritual community who provide good conditions for our practice.
These conditions help us
penetrate more deeply into the meaning of Buddha's teachings, engage
in sincere and regular study, and maintain a daily
meditation practice that is both focused and powerful.
Through regular teachings and meditation, along with systematic study and discussion, the Foundation Program offers spiritual support. In essence it is the same training followed by spiritual practitioners in an unbroken lineage dating back to Buddha himself.
Its special quality is that we can gain authentic experience within the context of our modern lifestyle. By studying on this program we will gain great confidence in the methods for transforming the mind - from basic techniques for overcoming our everyday problems to practices leading to unsurpassed happiness and permanent inner peace.
How does the program work?
The secret of the Foundation Program's success lies in the manageable commitment that participants undertake.
Students enroll for one section of the book at a time and commit to attending every class, learning the material, and taking a test related to that section.
There are two classes a week during term with substantial breaks at new year, spring, and summer.
